Dear friends:
Our 2026 medical mission trip to Senegal, West Africa, has been scheduled. The detailed arrangements are as follows:
1. Personnel
We welcome attending physicians from all specialties including:
Internal Medicine
Surgery
Pediatrics
Anesthesiology
Obstetrics and Gynecology
Ophthalmology
Maxillofacial Surgery
Orthopedics
Dentistry
Acupuncture
and more.
This year, we will have a big internal medicine team, and we are still in great need of doctors from varied specialties. Non-medical professionals are also warmly welcome.
We especially welcome youth participants, as they have played a very important role in our mission every year.
2. Dates
The team will be divided into two groups:
- Group One: Depart from the United States on Friday, March 20, 2026, serve in Senegal until Friday, March 27, and leaves on Saturday, March 28.
- Group Two: Depart from the United States on Friday, March 27, 2026, serve in Senegal until Saturday, April 4, 2026.
You may choose either group according to your own schedule. Since many youth volunteers join our medical mission trip each year and their spring breaks vary, it is not possible for us to accommodate everyone’s exact timing. Thank you for your understanding.
Flight information will be shared in the second announcement. Because flight schedules are subject to change, there may be a difference of one or two days. Volunteers are also encouraged to check the flights relevant to their own travel. In general, we prefer each group to assemble at New York JFK Airport so we can all depart together.
For doctors and volunteers coming from countries outside the United States, please coordinate with the local team leader in your country.
Please note:
U.S. summer vacation falls during West Africa’s rainy season, when malaria and other tropical infectious diseases are common, so it is not suitable for us.
3. Registration
Each family is required to contribute a non-refundable registration fee of $1,100. This will be used to purchase medicine, rice, equipment, and hospital rental fees for local people in Senegal.
For volunteers joining Africa Cries Out for the 3rd year, the registration fee is $500.
For volunteers joining Africa Cries Out for the 4th year or longer, the registration fee is $250.
In addition, each person’s local lodging, food, and transportation cost is $1,200. If two family members participate, the cost will be $2,400; If more, the fee increases accordingly.
An online registration system is being set up, please wait for the second announcement.
4. Vaccinations
Each volunteer is recommended to have Yellow Fever vaccine, which is a one-time vaccination and provides lifetime protection. If you are coming, or transiting, from a yellow fever risk country, yellow fever vaccine is mandatory. Please consult your family physician regarding other CDC-recommended vaccinations, primarily Typhoid and Hepatitis A.
Vaccinations are also available at Passport Health (https://www.passporthealthusa.com/), CVS, etc. (insurance reimbursement may vary).
5. Support & Involvement
We earnestly ask all friends, brothers and sisters to continue supporting Africa Cries Out. We also encourage parents to assist their children in establishing an Africa Cries Out Club at their schools, as a way to nurture and develop their leadership skills.

Because of your support, Africa Cries Out team has been serving in West Africa for thirteen years. Over these years, we have established a technical school, supported two small hospitals, and brought free medical care, medicines, and food to countless patients struggling in poverty and suffering.
We were not born in the harsh conditions and extreme scarcity of Africa—not because we are more deserving, but solely because of His grace. We have been blessed so that we could be a blessing to others. What we have freely received, we should freely give. To have the ability and opportunity to bring hope to the hopeless is the greatest value of life.
And the King will answer them, “Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.”(Matthew25:40 ESV)
