Senegal, which has just experienced the rainy season, is now a lush green. Today, Mr. Wang Yachen from the River of Life Church in Silicon Valley, California, led the staff and young people on a short-term mission to Togo and Senegal, visiting the African Cries Out Base in the midst of their busy schedules.

Mr. Wang’s son, Enoch, is also a member of the short-term mission team.

Ms. Anna and the base’s staff are very happy to have like-minded friends visit. They shared their experiences of establishing technical schools, leading people to the Lord, and planting churches. Everyone agreed that we should integrate our resources in the future and support each other in technical schools, hospitals, and spiritual education. The young people and short-term mission team were also moved by Ms. Anna’s 25 years of service in Africa, and her great ungrudging dedication.

The short-term mission team members of the River of Life Church in Silicon Valley took a group photo with Ms. Anna in front of the base.

Ms. Anna gave the short-term mission team a tour of the student dormitory.

Mr. Wang Yachen is a volunteer from the River of Life Church who goes to Africa every year to work. He is my role model and also a good friend.  He has been to Africa 25 times and has established a hospital and a technical school in Togo. He also takes care of more than 100 churches. His philosophy is the same as our Africa Cries Out, which is not only to establish churches, but also to provide comprehensive services to the people of Africa so that they can be self-sufficient.

River of Life Clinic in Togo officially opened on February 21, 2020.

Their teen team, like our teen team, collected old shoes for African kids.

The River of Life missionary team gave lectures to technical school students.

My dear friend, we only live once and how to live is the question of our lifetime. Loving ourselves and our families is our duty; loving others to change their lives is the meaning of our lives. Let’s be like Ms. Anna and Mr. Wang Yachen, who would bring water to the thirsty, deliver warm blankets to the cold and feed bread to the hungry, rather than enjoy them alone. Life can only be extended in the river of love, and the value of life can only be realized when changing the lives of others.
